MBC girls shine at Queensland and National events

Many Moreton Bay College girls competed in Queensland and National sporting events over the past month.  Our girls put in amazing performances resulting in many medals. 

U14 - Open Queensland Athletics Championships in March.

Congratulations to the following girls for their outstanding results at U14 - Open Queensland Athletics Championships in March. MBC walked away with many medals, and Abby set a new Queensland record and a new Australian record.

Abby - U16 Gold 100m (Qld Record), Gold Long Jump (Australian Record) and Gold 200m Lily - U14 Gold 80m Hurdles, Bronze 100m and Bronze 200m Grace - U17 Gold Javelin Emma - U15 Gold 800m and Silver 1500m Nyree - U17 Silver 800m Lily - U17 Silver Long Jump Ellie - U18 Silver 800m and Silver 1500m Tiah - U15 Bronze 1500m Liv - U17 Bronze 100m & Bronze 200m Annabelle - U15 Bronze 400m and 5th 800m Kaya - U15 5th 1500m  Lausanne - U17 5th 800m and 5th 1500m Monica - U14 5th 1500m

Queensland School Sport Swimming Championships.

Congratulations to the following girls who gained a medal at the recent Queensland School Sport Swimming Championships. Gabby - Gold in 50m,100m and 200m Backstroke Lily – Silver in 50m Free and 50m Fly and Bronze in 100m Freestyle Amelia – Silver in 200m and 400m Freestyle Kyrah – Bronze in 50m Breaststroke  Tayla – Bronze in 100m Backstroke

Australian National Junior Athletics Championships

Congratulations to Abby, who recently competed at the Australian National Junior Athletics Championships. Abby came 1st in the U16 Para long jump and 2nd in the U16 Para 100m. To top it off, she also ran a PB and finished 4th in the U16 Para 200m.

National Track and Field Championships

Congratulations to Grace, who recently was awarded Bronze in Javelin at the National Track and Field Championships.
