Mrs Ashlee Bruce | Head of Academic Operations

BA, BEd, M.Ed.St. (Leadership)

Ashlee commenced her career in 2004 following her training as a Japanese and Humanities teacher at The University of Queensland. In the last 20 years, Ashlee has worked in both Independent and Government schools, most recently at Brisbane State High School, where she was responsible for the Languages department, delivering six general languages and eleven external languages to students in the school community.

Prior to this, Ashlee worked as the Head of Languages (P-12) at Clayfield College in Brisbane’s North. During her time there she completed her Master of Educational Studies, majoring in Leadership. She has continued her post graduate studies by examining the impact of learning technology use on student agency and metacognitive awareness and hopes to obtain her Master of Philosophy from Curtin University in 2024.

Ashlee is passionate about working with school communities to ensure that the young people in their care enjoy a safe and engaging environment for learning. Within this, students can experience a sense of safety, compassion, and opportunities to understand who they are, and develop skills and confidence to acquire, question and apply knowledge. As the world of education continues to change and evolve, Ashlee looks forward to working with the students at Moreton Bay College to create and maintain the best possible learning and teaching environment that results in happy, courageous, and capable learners.
