Art in Action
Students explored the work of Franz Marc, a German Expressionist artist. Using colour symbolism, they developed a composition which demonstrates a variety of brush and palette knife techniques to imply feeling and emotion. Further emphasis and unity was considered during the planning stage to enhance the artwork.
Students linked their practical experiences with theory to create vessels inspired by sea life and sea creatures. The ‘Metamorphosis’ of sea life causes students to consider the environmental impacts that humans have on this planet. Students researched and selected forms and textures found in the natural world and combined these to create a vessel with a detailed decorative surface.
