The college for your daughter

Moreton Bay College will consider enrolment applications from Primary and Secondary students wishing to apply for a Student Visa, subject to compliance with minimum requirements and conditions set by the College, and with legislative requirements of the State of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia, including any requirements to undertake extra tuition to learn English to meet the English language proficiency standard needed to enter mainstream classes.

We look forward to welcoming your daughter to Moreton Bay College.  Click on the tabs below and follow the 8 Steps required to enrol your daughter at our College. Please contact us on international@mbc.qld.edu.au  if you have any questions.

Step 1

Step 1: Please submit an International Student Application Form with the following supporting documents:

  • a copy of the student’s passport
  • copies, in English, of the student's academic record for the past two (2) years (where applicable)
  • a completed Reference Form from the student’s current or most recent school principal if above report cards do no record student behaviour or commitment to studies.
  • a completed subject selection form (if applicable)
  • acceptable evidence of English language proficiency (e.g. AEAS, IELTS)
  • application for course credit (if required)
  • completed Homestay Application Form (if applicable)
  • non-refundable Enrolment Application Fee of AUD 500

When the above documents are not available in English, certified translations in English are required, with the costs to be met by the applicant.

The Colleges requires evidence that the applicant’s academic ability and English proficiency is sufficient to successfully meet the entry and curriculum demands of the intended course. This is a requirement under the 2018 National Code of Practice, Part B Standard 2. Please refer to the International Student Handbook for more information.

International Student applications for enrolment will only be considered when all of the above documents have been provided to the College Registrar. Applications are processed in accordance with our Enrolment Policy.

The International Student Application Form can be downloaded here.

The completed Student Application Form and supporting documents are to be emailed to international@mbc.qld.edu.au

Step 2

Step 2: Upon receipt of a completed application form, an enrolment interview will be arranged for the student with a member of our Senior Leadership Team. This can be done in person or via an online video conference programme.

The interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about the student, their academic and co-curricular interests, English language proficiency and discuss the College’s expectations. It is also an appropriate time for the student to ask any questions they may have about the College’s programmes.

Step 3

Step 3: Following a successful interview, the College will notify the student of the outcome. If a place is being offered, they will be advised if this is for direct entry or via an ELICOS Course or High School Preparation Programme. The College will issue a Provisional Letter of Offer and Written Agreement outlining the type of offer and fees payable (including Overseas Student Health Cover, Accommodation, Tuition and Non-Tuition fees), entry requirements and course details.

Step 4

Step 4: A place is not confirmed until the signed Provisional Letter of Offer, signed Written Agreement and payment of fees is received. Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) may choose to pay more than 50% of total fees in which case a separate invoice will be issued. The return of signed documents and fee payments is the responsibility of the student’s parents/legal guardians. Please note if using an Educational Agent, they are not permitted to complete documents on parents’ behalf.

Step 5

Step 5: On receipt of payment and return of signed Enrolment Acceptance and Written Agreement, the school will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and Confirmation of Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) via PRISMS for the period the student is to be enrolled at Moreton Bay College.

Step 6

Step 6: The student can apply for a student visa and notify the College when it is granted.

Step 7

Step 7: Homestay arrangements to be made following receipt of a Homestay Application Form. Moreton Bay College works with a local Homestay Provider to select an appropriate family for the student.

Step 8

Step 8: Arrangements are made for the student’s arrival and orientation. Students attending an ELICOS or HSPP course prior to commencement will be included in any orientation programmes. Additional orientation documentation may be required at this time.
