MBC has two overlapping hockey pathways for girls to pursue - Club Hockey and QGSSSA Hockey.
Club Hockey
This is offered to girls from Years 1 - 8 and is played during Terms 2 and 3. Once players are too old for U13 Club teams they are encouraged and assisted to find a place in an outside school club.
Several of our girls have started with MBC, continued Club hockey after leaving the MBC U13 teams and are now representing Queensland in their respective age groups. Currently, Audrey Smith is playing Goalkeeper for the Qld U18 team and Samantha Pavish is playing for Qld U21's.
QGSSSA Hockey
This is offered for girls in Years 8 - 12 and is a Secondary school competition played on Saturday mornings during Term 3. Teams entered are: Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Senior A and Open.
Representative Hockey
- Club players are able to nominate to represent Brisbane at U11 & U13 championships.
- Year 6 and 7 (U12) players may nominate to represent Met East region at the Primary Schoolgirls championships
- Secondary students may nominate to represent Met East region at the Decondary Schoolgirls championships
NAB Knockout Cup
The MBC Open team, with some additional talent identified younger players, compete in the State wide NAB Knockout Cup. MBC has won this prestigious competition four times in the past five years.
